A particularly common criticism is that they leave an answerphone message asserting that they are from Bank X and that you need to call them back urgently on a number given <em>on the phone<\/em>. Clearly, such a message could come from anyone, but they have for a very long time failed to see that there is a problem with this.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, at least one bank seems to have done something sensible about this. I received a call this morning from an automated system claiming to be from Barclaycard. I decided to look up the number that I should call using the Barclaycard website.
